Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Encrypted password

We do not require full names, physical addresses, or phone numbers to use Writeorium.

Submitted Texts

When a user submits written work for critique, the text is processed to generate structured feedback.

AI Processing:

Submitted texts are processed through Anthropic’s Claude API to generate feedback
Anthropic retains submitted data for 30 days for trust and safety purposes, then permanently deletes it
Per Anthropic’s terms, API data is not used to train AI models
Submitted texts are stored in your account until you delete them

Submitted texts are not published, shared publicly, or sold to third parties.

1. Payment Information

Payments are securely processed by Stripe.

Writeorium and BookBildr LLC do not store or have access to credit card numbers or full payment details.

Payment data is handled in accordance with Stripe’s privacy policy.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

Provide writing critiques
Manage user accounts
Process payments
Improve the functionality of the platform
Respond to user inquiries

We do not sell or rent personal data.

3. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data.

Passwords are stored in encrypted form.
Payment information is processed exclusively by Stripe.

While we strive to protect personal information, no method of transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

4. Children’s Privacy

Writeorium may be used by minors under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or educator.

For children under 13 years of age, accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental consent in accordance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We rely on third-party providers to operate the service, including:

Anthropic Inc. (AI-powered feedback generation via Claude API)
Stripe (payment processing)
Web hosting providers
Email services (if applicable)

These providers may process data as necessary to deliver their services.

6. How We Use AI Technology

Writeorium uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic’s Claude) to generate writing feedback.

What this means:

Your submitted text is sent to Anthropic’s servers for processing
Feedback is generated based on the grade level and writing type you select
The AI analyzes your writing but does not store it permanently
No human at Anthropic reads your submissions unless there’s a trust & safety concern

AI Limitations:

AI-generated feedback may contain errors
Users should apply judgment when using feedback
The AI does not replace human instruction

7. Data Retention

We retain account information and submitted texts as long as the account remains active or as necessary to provide the service.

Users may request account deletion by contacting us.

8. International Users

Writeorium is operated in the United States.

If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
